Bielefeld Hermansroute longer version

The Hermannshöhen are among the top hiking trails in Germany, because both the Hermannsweg and the Eggeweg have been awarded the certificate "Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland" by the German Hiking Association. This is part of the hike that I did on July 28, 2013 and processed better on April 7, 2020, so that others can also experience a completely different hiking world up close!!!

A fascinating change right on the way is Sparrenburg Castle with its underground passages and views over Bielefeld.

The 160-kilometre-long Hermannsweg and the Eggeweg, the 70-kilometre-long continuation, run over the peaks of the Teutoburg Forest and the Eggegebirge as Hermannshöhen. The hiking network of the two traditional ridges, which lead to a large extent through the two nature parks Terra Vita and Teutoburg Forest/Egge and connect the Münsterland, the Sauerland and the Teutoburg Forest , is over 100 years old.
