The circular tour starts at the train station, which is adapted to the style of the country house buildings in the villa town and gives a first impression of the relaxed flair of the spa town. The tour takes you past buildings steeped in history, such as the church of the former villa colony. There the world boxing champion Max Schmeling married his wife the actress Anny Ondra in 1933. An architectural rarity is the listed Scharwenkahaus, today the first Brandenburg Music Museum. Some houses were popularly given names like “Egg House” (Villa PAROLO) and Sterngazer Villa (Tetens Villa) due to their extravagant architecture, or they were named after famous spa guests like Maxim Gorky (Gorky House). The dark log cabin looks as if it had stepped out of a Russian fairy tale.
Culinary well-being is also taken care of. Enjoy a coffee specialty and a delicious piece of cake in the easily accessible "Café Le Gateau Rose" on the ground floor or in the coffee roastery.
For those who can't get enough, we recommend a small detour to the Schwedenhaus on the southern edge of the villa village. The porcelain manufacturer Schomburg had this distinctive Swedish-style wooden house built in 1911 for his Swedish wife to offer her a piece of home. The breathtaking view of the Scharmutzelsee can still be enjoyed today! On the way back, the "Freilich am See" beer garden invites you to have a cool drink right by the lake. If you want, you can jump into the clear water at the public bathing area right next to it.
