The railway hiking trail connects important tourist destinations along the Unstrut railway.

Description

The railway hiking trail leads from the railway stop of the Unstrut railway in Wangen, via the Visitor Center Arche Nebra, the rock massif Steinklöbe, along the Klosterweinberg, initially to the Museum Kloster- und Kaiserpfalz in Memleben.

The hiking trail is worthwhile in every season and leads through old oak and beech forests.
Enjoy beautiful views of the Unstrut Valley, the Kyffhäuser Mountains, the Hohe Schrecke, and the Unstrut railway.

The hiking trail in Memleben is connected to the Feengrotten Kyffhäuser Trail, which you can then follow further via Wendelstein to Roßleben. If you do not turn south at Steinklöbe, but continue along the path, you will also reach Wendelstein and can follow the Feengrotten Kyffhäuser Trail there.

Travel information

On selected days, trains (see special trips) run from Naumburg to Roßleben and Donndorf (Unstrut). In addition, the regional bus 700 operates daily every two hours between Nebra, Wangen (Unstrut), Memleben, Wendelstein, and Roßleben.
