The following sights can be found on the bike route:

ZIEGLER MEMORIAL IN KALLDORF
Just as the miner belongs to the Ruhr area, the Ziegler belongs to Lippe. The Ziegler Memorial from 1988 in Kalldorf's Meyra-Ring reminds us that the economic and social imbalance within Germany forced many Lipper people from the 19th century to the mid-20th century to leave their homeland or work as migrant workers. This is still documented today by the Ziegler associations, which pass on this history as living traditional associations.

INFO PANELS AND PICTURE FRAMES ERDER
With a flat route parallel to the Weser, the route leads along the Herrengraben nature reserve from Varenholz to Erder. Along the alternative route of the Weser Cycle Path, more than 10 info panels point out historical and scenic highlights. The large picture frame bench overlooking the Weser invites you to take a selfie.

VARENHOLZ CASTLE
The Weser Renaissance castle with an Evangelical Reformed church is located on the edge of the Weseraue and has a long history. First mentioned in 1188 as a castle, it was expanded into one of the most important buildings of the Weser Renaissance as a castle by Count Simon VI. zu Lippe at the end of the 16th century. The former noble residence was the seat of the UFA Universum Filmgesellschaft after the Second World War and now houses a boarding school with a private secondary school. The picturesque inner courtyard is one of the most beautiful buildings of the Weser Renaissance. A rest info point below the castle will offer not only a shelter with seating but also a bike repair station and info panel for cyclists starting in summer 2023.

WESER FERRY
Crossing the Weser with the cable ferry Varenholz-Veltheim is not only an exciting experience for young and old, but also saves hikers and cyclists some distance. This type of ferry is not only environmentally friendly as it has no propulsion motor, but is also quiet, allowing passengers to enjoy nature to the fullest during the crossing. Operating hours: April to October on weekends and public holidays from 10am to 6pm

CHURCH AND CANNON IN LANGHOLZHAUSEN
The cannon at Paulinenbrücke was manufactured in Bourges, France in 1886 and dates from the time after the Franco-Prussian War. Initially a "war trophy" from World War I, it stood on the courtyard of Detmolder Castle. Acquired by the Langenholzhausen War Veterans Association in a raffle, the cannon was transported to Langenholzhausen in 1924, pulled by four horses. It found its current location on a pedestal with boulders from Kalle in 1934. Right next to it is the Evangelical Reformed church, whose tower was built around 1150. The organ inside was built in 1752 by the Herford organ builder Christian Clasing and is one of the most important old organs in Westphalia-Lippe.
