Stage 8 is part of the section of the Camino del Cid known as the Taifas or the Three Kingdoms. The route leads through three ancient Muslim kingdoms (Zaragoza, Toledo, and Albarracín).
From Molina de Aragon, a fairly busy road continues into the mountains. The road does not rise continuously, but gradually you go higher and higher. Until halfway through the stage, there are some small villages, but in Checa, Orea, and Orihuela del Tremedal there is more to see. These places have the charm of mountain villages. Ultimately, the route ends at the highest point of the day in Bronchales, at 1560m altitude one of the highest villages in Spain.
