This circuit offers beautiful views of Givet and Belgium stretching to the north. Two long descents provide great speed sensations… helmet more necessary than ever!

D/A Departure facing the church of Chooz. Take the street in front of the town hall, turn right then left to cross the Meuse. Continue left on the Green Way towards Givet for 2 km.1 Leave the Green Way at the wooden barrier to take the Aviette Path climbing to the right (castle and gîte of the same name nearby) and continue until the village of Rancennes: beautiful view of the blue stone quarries and the fort of Charlemont.2 In Rancennes, at the 2nd intersection turn right onto Rue de Givet, continue and take Rue du Poteau on the left.3 Leave the street to climb right up the dirt path alongside a pasture. Keep it for 750 m passing through a small wood (stone cross dating from 1770). At the end of the path turn right and follow the farm track with regularly flooded ruts.4 Cross the road to take the paved path set back to the right. Catch up with the road below and head right towards the village of Charnois.5 Pass the town hall and follow the street to the right, pass in front of a 2nd stone cross and continue the road climbing up to the isolated farm of Pichegru. Continue straight ahead and descend the narrow path in the undergrowth for 750 m [Slope of 11 %].6 Upon exiting the woods, take the path through 2 pastures and turn right.7 Descend the forest track that winds for 1.2 km towards the Meuse [Slope of 8 % with gravel and barrier at the end of the descent]. At the intersection, follow right onto the paved road towards the bridge to return to the starting point.
