The route runs through the lesser-known north of the Ardeche. Starting from Privas, the route begins with a climb towards Vernoux-En-Vivarais. Then, via Lamastre, it heads back southeast to Saint-agreve, the start of the Eyrieux river. The first part of this river is not consistently followable by motorbike, but from Intres the road stays alongside the river. You now follow the river along the beautiful D120.
