Riva Resia Chiavenna

Starting from the low Bergamo area, you head onto the state road of Caffaro (BS) tackling the famous "Coste di S. Eusebio". From Salò to Riva del Garda, you can enjoy relaxation and landscapes along the lakeside. A stop in Riva del Garda is recommended. A splendid town at the top of the lake. Ascend along a road used for mountain ascent races with a wide road and gentle curves up to the top. The descent is more classic with hairpin turns. You continue from Trento to Bolzano and Merano on state roads. A stop in Merano is suggested both for the city and for lunch at the FORST brewery. Through the Val di NON, you reach Lake Resia, famous for the bell tower that emerges from the lake. You then tackle the Resia Pass entering Austria (it’s better to refuel immediately at the border of the pass, as there are few gas stations afterward) and then immediately into Switzerland. You cross Switzerland passing S. Moritz (a break would be ideal, even just for the lake) re-entering Italy near Chiavenna. A stop at the Acqua Fraggia waterfalls is a must, ideal for a picnic (entrance fee 3 Euros). From Chiavenna, you descend along Lake Lecco (a high-speed road with many tunnels) until you reach Lecco. You then return via less frequented roads, although they are filled with successive roundabouts.
