Voorst is a village in, and the namesake of, the municipality of Voorst in the province of Gelderland. The town hall of the municipality of Voorst is located in Twello. The village has 2,780 inhabitants. In the village stands the windmill De Zwaan. The village has a long history. The former Dutch Reformed church from the 14th century is located on a site mentioned in a charter from 893 among the goods of Prüm in the Eifel. The Prüm possessions were sold in 1609 by the States of Gelderland to Count Ernst Casimir of Nassau-Dietz.
