Restaurant 't Veerhuis

On the southern bank of the Lower Rhine we find the Heusdense ferry house, built between 1776 and 1809. 't Veerhuis has a rich history. The current building was built in the mid-1800s and served as a ferry house. Ferry houses have traditionally fulfilled a double function: as the home of the ferryman and to provide tired travelers with food and shelter. Passers-by could go to the gelagkamer for a cup of coffee or a drink and for a ferry ticket on the River Rhine. The atmosphere of that time is still there, you experience that the moment you cross the threshold. The building is classically furnished, we combine elements of the past with a modern touch so that you can enjoy nostalgic and comfortable. The building stands on a natural elevation, the embankment of the Rhine. Even at extremely high water levels, it remains dry in principle

Nowadays, the Vonk family is at your service together with the Veerhuis team. For a cup of coffee with some goodies, a tasteful lunch, a dressed up drink or a relaxed dinner in the nostalgic café or in the atmospheric restaurant.
