The 100 km of Appelscha

Explore and experience all the nature reserves around Appelscha during one beautiful 100 km long hiking trail, a fantastic walking experience!

The long-distance walk takes you past the beautiful nature in the region, but also past 40 catering and overnight accommodation locations. This makes it possible to cover different daily distances. And the route is suitable for both campers and people who prefer a little more comfort. This way everyone can take a 100km walk!

On the website www.appelscha.nl we have created various booking options for you, allowing you to choose whether you want to spend the night at a campsite, in a hiker's hut or in a B&B/hotel. Then you choose how many kilometers you want to walk on average per day, and a proposal will follow with possible accommodations.

If the accommodations are not available, you can also put together a route yourself. That's a bit more puzzling, but it's also part of the fun!

The 100km Walking Guide

We made a nice walking guide especially for this route in which you will find more information about the route. In the booklet you will also find a stamp card, a personal logbook and the junction list including the locations along the way and any route information to these locations. This way you can even walk the route without using your phone (digital detox)!

For every booklet sold, a tree is planted in the Drents-Friese Wold. With the stamp card in the booklet, your name will be linked to this project and you will also receive a handmade medal from nature at Appelscha.
