This Cretaceous walking route winds right through the heart of the chalk landscape of Valkenburg. For more than 150 years, the marl town of Valkenburg has been popular with tourists from all over the country and from all over the world. It is a place with the richest tourist tradition in the Netherlands. It is not without reason that the very first tourist office was created here, a success formula that has rolled out throughout the country.

The attraction lies in the marl, which has a lot to offer both above ground and underground. Who has never been to the 'caves' of Valkenburg? Generation after generation it is a favorite holiday destination. During this route you will discover the timeless attraction of the marl town and its biggest attractions: the castle ruins, the quarries with the various sights and the fortifications with city gates, walls and canals. During a trip to Sibbe you can admire the beautiful Biebosch, where there are also plenty of traces of marl mining.
