AzureThe Pieterpad was conceived, walked and described between 1978 and 1983 by Toos Goorhuis-Tjalsma from Tilburg and Bertje Jens from Groningen. Two friends who thought that the Netherlands could use a serious long-distance path. They were inspired by a hike in the German Black Forest and wanted to achieve something similar in the Netherlands.
