A beautiful walk that offers tranquility and cultural-historical gems. You will walk a lot over (rough) grassy paths, so a pair of sturdy hiking shoes is not an unnecessary luxury. After a short tour through Nieuweschans, which is designated as a protected village view, you will proceed through the Houwingahambos and along the Tijdenskanaal to Bellingwolde. Through the Bellingwolder forest, you will reach the fortress of Oudeschans, from where you will return to the starting point over the old ramparts through the meadows.
