This is one of the anchor blocks of the original "towers" of the antenna park with 8 masts of 284 meters high , placed 400 meters apart. They had a base of 2.5 by 2.5 meters and were held straight with 28 tension cables.
On December 30, 1933, an airplane from the Cologne-Brussels-London line crashed into one of the masts and two-thirds of the 284-metre-high pier crashed.
One night in June 1940, a German bomber crashed into the southeastern tower. The tower and the plane crashed down.
In August 1940 a wing of a German bomber hit a cable and crashed. Then it was decided to completely tear down four towers and two partially. The last piece of mast was knocked down on July 23, 1979.
