He also says that 'Even more than Treignes, this is the elephant graveyard of the Belgian railways'. But amidst all that dilapidated glory, he also has an eye for the nature that is rampant here in these places: 'No gardener has ever interfered with these railway gardens. They are more nature than the tamed Ardennes forests where the conservationists play God or the meadow landscapes sculpted by centuries of farmer's labor."
