Tour de Eckenhagen

On this circuit with its 25 km, a height difference of 550m is overcome. The tour leads through charming natural park landscapes, past a juniper heath, through idyllic villages, and offers many sights that invite you to linger.

The starting and finishing point of the bike tour is in Eckenhagen, at Rodener Platz. At the beginning of the bike tour, a 12% incline towards the winter sports area Blockhaus must be tackled. It's no shame to get off the bike here. However, a fantastic view in the village of Blockhaus compensates for it. On clear days, you have a panoramic view up to the Siebengebirge, sometimes even as far as the Eifel (approximately 130 km away).

We follow the signs to the left towards Hecke. After about 500 m, there is an opportunity to take a short detour to the juniper reserve Branscheid. Information about the juniper can be obtained at the Reichshof tourist office.

Back on the bike path, the signs lead towards Hecke through the Spichertal. The route now goes downhill. The hamlets Hecke, Branscheid, and Hahnbuche invite you to linger with their half-timbered houses. In Hahnbuche, you cross the K 50. After about 1 km, the hamlet of Schmittseifen is on the right.

Once back on the route, it remains flat temporarily before tackling the ascent (more than 10%) to Hüngringhausen to the left. After leaving this hamlet, fantastic distant views open up, and now it goes downhill towards Steinaggertal through Ersbach and Mittelagger. Here in Mittelagger, you cross the Steinagger and continue upwards through Schönenbach and Wald to Sinspert. Parallel to the highway, the bike course leads through Blankenbach and Lepperhof back to Eckenhagen.
