Saint-Jean-aux-Bois is a commune in northern France with 322 inhabitants in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region. It belongs to the Compiègne arrondissement and the Compiègne-2 canton. The inhabitants are called Les Solitaires. Saint-Jean-aux-Bois is located about seven kilometers southeast of Compiègne in the midst of the Compiègne Forest. Saint-Jean-aux-Bois is surrounded by the neighboring communes of Compiègne to the north and northwest, Vieux-Moulin to the northeast, Pierrefonds to the east, Morienval to the south, Orrouy to the south and southwest, Saint-Sauveur to the west and southwest, and Lacroix-Saint-Ouen to the west.
