Kloster Schwarzenbroich is a ruin in the woods between Gürzenich and Schevenhütte in the Düren district, North Rhine-Westphalia, in the area of today's municipality of Langerwehe.
The monastery was located at the foot of Knosterberg. Today, only the heavily overgrown wall remains, which are up to 6 meters high. In the Middle Ages, the location was called Matthiasthal because in 1340 Werner von Merode is said to have had an appearance of the Apostle Matthias here. He is said to have urged him to establish a monastery at the site. The pilgrimage road passed directly by the monastery, which led from Düren over Gürzenich, Derichsweiler, Schevenhütte to the famous pilgrimage site of Kornelimünster. It is part of the Camino de Santiago and is accordingly marked with the scallop shell as a sign of the Camino.
