In 2020, engineer Ronald Van Ham came to a number of striking observations about the historic structure of old roads and land layouts in Lennik. According to van Ham, the Romans were the cause of the classification. More specifically, a certain Cicero who had to organize the Noël in Kester in the first century BC. The market was the center or forum around which 80 equal pieces of land were located. Each piece of land had an exact area of 50.5 hectares. That is the size of 1 centuria and is enough to live on. Caesar is said to have ordered it to be given to meritorious soldiers. According to Van Ham, there was a Roman farm on each of these centurias, on which a square farm Weerd was later placed. The roads to those 80 equal sections all left to the north of the forum. And that point is the geographical centre of gravity of the entire territory. A very curious coincidence, van Ham thinks, if you can't attribute it to the Romans.
