The name refers to an old toponym in the area and means "near a group of alders." The farm originated as a clearing in the Medelewoud. It is first mentioned in written sources in 1480. The old dwelling house is from the 18th century but has not been used as such since 1870. Around that time, a new dwelling house was built on the west side of the property. Also around 1870, the bakehouse or oven neighbor disappeared. It had to make way for a character-shaped brick potato cellar that partially protrudes from the ground and whose top is covered with earth. The barn and the stables were completely renovated around 1860-1870. The gate pillars and the wrought-iron gate are from the 19th century. Around 1989-1991, all buildings here were extensively renovated.
