De Nuchten is a nature reserve in the Dender region managed by the Agency for Nature and Forests. The swamp forest is the ideal habitat for various bird species and can be traversed by a 600-metre-long bat path. Peat was cut here and subsequent attempts were made to drain the area. This did not work and the pumping station was turned into a bat enclosure. Trails reserved for hikers and large fields in an environment sometimes overgrown with vegetation where you can see a deer with a little luck. Parking and departures in the Hollestraat, Idegem (GPS house number 6), those who come with the mobile home can park at the cemetery or the adjacent parking lot of the padel club, the side street between the railway and house number 6.
