On the chalks from Corbion via Poupehan and Rochehaut to Frahan

Poupehan is the town where Prime Minister Wilfried Martens, labor leaders and the Central Bank governor met secretly in a chalet in the 1980s to avoid the Depression . The government was about to fall and that inspired me to see the statue of the Virgin Mary overturned in a small chapel. In conclusion: It was here in Poupehan that the cornerstone for the recovery policy of the following years was laid.

The walk is a wonderful day trip with 4 stops : Corbion starts from a car park on a bend in the Corbion to Poupehan road and is the first to make an early stop.

We pass the peaks of Le Chènet with a beautiful view of Poupehan , where a second step is possible.

Now we climb to "Dessus les Wintchires" , a rocky ridge that we follow to Rochehaut.

Of course we enjoy the famous view over Frahan at Rochehaut and the many restaurants invite us to make another stopover.

Now we first go to the Roche des Corbeaux to enjoy a spectacular view. Little known but certainly just as worth seeing as the view from Rochehaut in Frahan!

The way back is via the Semois: down the Frahan footbridge (one more stop? or enough?) to get past the old tobacco barns to the starting point.
