Ludwigsburg

The Ludwigsburg is a listed secular building at Ludwigsburgstraße 5 in Bad Berleburg in the district of Siegen-Wittgenstein .
In an enclosed garden area there are two staggered half-timbered buildings. The eastern wing was built between 1707 and 1709 under the direction of Johann Hermann Riedesel, the western wing was built on behalf of Count Casimir zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg for his youngest brother Ludwig Franz zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Ludwigsburg. It is marked 1724. For a time, the complex served as the seat of a count's branch line founded by Ludwig Franz. Around 1900, a staircase and corner turrets were built between the two wings. Both parts of the house are decorated with inscriptions and elaborate carved decoration on the half-timbering; on the older part with the decorative forms characteristic of Riedesel.
