This route covers 2300 meters of elevation over a distance of 85 km, so the condition must be very good. The roads are very quiet, except for Letmathe and near Lüdenscheid. Due to the hurricane Kyrill in January 2007, large forest areas have disappeared in various places, providing beautiful views during the ascent to Brandenberg and Büberg (Hegenscheid). In almost every ascent, the gradient exceeds 10% and often lies above 15%. Some specific information about certain road sections: The road from Lauenscheider Mühle to Heedfeld partly runs on a private road, but is integrated into a cycling network that is accessible to cyclists. At the top of Heedfeld, you must cross the L561 onto Rosenweg (there is a sign stating that this road is a dead end, but this does not apply to cyclists: The road is blocked for motor traffic after 100m by some posts).

Some roads have less good road surfaces; this applies to the road between Ober-Hunscheid and Fuelbecker Talsperre in the descending direction (anti-clockwise track) as well as between Pillingsen and Untergrüne. In the ascending direction, this applies to the road to Rummenohl to Mühlhagen and the lower part of the ascent to Großendrescheid.
