This route is part of the 7 Summits, the seven steepest mountain peaksin South Limburg. It is a circular walk of 8.4 km with a maximum altitude of 257 meters.

The summit of the Schneeberg is located in Germany and is part of the Bocholtzer Plateau. The Schneeberg owes its name to the limestone soil, which in summer has a strikingly bright (white) color compared to the surrounding hills . At the foot of the mountain is the Dutch village of Oud-Lemiers, the starting point of the normal path to the summit at 257 m. Around the Schneeberg you can still find concrete anti-tank barriers ("dragon's teeth") and bunkers, parts of the Siegfried Line from the Second World War .
