The minaret belonged to a small mosque or oratory, possibly from the 14th century.
After the Christian conquest it became a church called Sant Sebastià , of which there are no visible remains today except for the old minaret, which was converted into a bell tower.
The minaret, which bears similarities to those of North Africa, is divided into three parts , the first two of which are Islamic and the upper part was adapted by Christian to house the bell tower.
The lower part is in plastered masonry with a horseshoe-shaped portal supporting an alfiz and decorated on the west side with a band and a painted lintel . The second part is in brick with two small horseshoe-shaped windows on each side, topped by a geometric brick decoration of which little remains at the top.
