Short route description
This route of 33 km leads you through the Noorderpark, the area between Utrecht and the Loosdrechtse Plassen that is bordered on both sides by the Vecht and the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The tour starts on the bank of the Vecht, at Zuylen Castle. A unique museum where you can experience the life of a noble family in the 18th century in the beautifully decorated rooms. Cycle along the rustling reeds of the cap holes, through the tight ditch pattern in the polder and through centuries-old ribbon villages. Forts and group shelters along the way remind us of the New Dutch Water Line, of which the area is part. The return journey starts as soon as you meet the banks of the Vecht. If you follow the river you will pass the stately country house of the country estate Goudestein. The white frame of the entrance lot extends over 2 floors and makes it an impressive whole. Around the house, which is built in neoclassical style, is a landscape park which is publicly accessible.

Marshes and lakes, country houses and centuries-old villages, mills and forts... This tour is a varied journey through time and through unprecedentedly beautiful nature.
