Situated to the north of Wat Maha That and near to the town pillar shrine, Wat Chana Songkhram was formerly known as Wat Racha Burana. Its imposing building is the main chedi in circular bell shape of vast size. In the east there are a vihara, the ordination hall and subordinate chedi surrounding the main one. Topped by a structure in the shape of receding storeys, one of these subordinate chedi on the eastern flank of the main chedi is worth mentioning because of its striking feature, similar to Wat Chedi Chet Thaeo in Si Satchanalai. Presumably, this distinctive chedi was later built. [Ref: Guide to Sukhothai, Si Satchanalai and Kamphaeng Phet Historical Parks – Fine Arts Department (1999)]
