Das Dampfturbinenschiff America war ein Passagierschiff, das 1939 für die United States Lines erbaut wurde. Es war für den Verkehr auf der Nordatlantikroute vorgesehen und wurde unter anderem als Militärtransporter und Kreuzfahrtschiff benutzt. 1994 riss sich die America während eines Sturms vor den Kanarischen Inseln von den Leinen ihres Schleppers los und strandete in einer Bucht an der Westküste Fuerteventuras. Das noch erhaltene Bugteil war lange Zeit eine Touristenattraktion, befindet sich allerdings seit März 2007 fast vollständig unter der Wasseroberfläche. Es liegt auf 28° 20′ 45″ N, 14° 10′ 50″ W28.345833333333-14.1805.
