Das Ospedale degli Innocenti ist ein Bauwerk der Renaissance in Florenz von Filippo Brunelleschi. Es ist ein Findelhaus. Teilweise wurde in der Kunstgeschichte der Beginn der Renaissance mit diesem Bau angesetzt, der 1419 begonnen wurde, aber erst 1445 offiziell in Betrieb kam, Die Initiative zu dem Bau entstand durch ein Erbe über 1000 Golflorin an das Hospital Santa Maria Nuova durch Francesco di Marco Datini, der das Patronat für den Bau der Zunft der Florentiner Seidenmacher übertrug. Das Findelhaus ist Brunelleschis erste bedeutende Arbeit und das erste Waisenhaus dieser Art überhaupt, Findelhäuser sind als solche aber älter, sie sind in Florenz 1316 bezeugt, 1362 in Paris, 1376 in Freiburg i.Br. und 1380 in Ulm. Bis 1875 konnte man hier unerkannt durch eine noch erhaltene kleine Drehtür unerwünschte Kinder abgeben. Im hinteren Teil der Anlage existiert heute noch ein Waisenhaus.
