After a German general was killed in the Peloponnese during World War II, 200 prisoners were picked from the Chaidari prison camp (from the other side of the city) and executed in batches of 20 on the side of Mount Hymettos at Kaisariani. They are buried in the Cemetery of Nikaia.
The fact that they transported the prisoners all that way was obviously to expose this act of terror to the population of Athens. The fact that they picked Kaisariani as a final destination was probably because it was known to the Nazis that there were a lot of sympathizing communists and partisans living in this area.
