Julianatoren dankt zijn naam aan de uit 1910 stammende toren die bij het pretpark staat, destijds genaamd de Prinses Juliana Toren, genoemd naar de in 1909 geboren prinses Juliana. De toren heeft de status van rijksmonument.De bouw van de uitkijktoren kwam gereed in 1910. Als tweede attractie kwamen er lachspiegels. In 1940, toen Nederland door nazi-Duitsland bezet was, werd de naam 'Prinses Juliana Toren', veranderd in 'Julia Toren'. Na de oorlog werd die naamswijziging teruggedraaid. In 2014 werd de huidige naam aangenomen, die was in het dagelijks spraakgebruik al heel lang gewoon.
