De staat speelt een belangrijke rol in vele van Molin’s films. Als controleur van de wegen was hij een frequente gast van het City Hotel in Östhammar, waar hij vaak op zondag werd gezien met zijn familie.
Hasselbacken was de evidente zaterdagse locatie om te feesten met buren en vrienden. Dit was op het moment dat elke zichzelf respecterende stad in Zweden zijn eigen ‘city hotel’ had.
Zowel het ‘Strand Hotel’ en ‘Hasselbacken’ komen voor in Badjävlar en Sommarmord. Andere films waar het ‘City Hotel’ een prominente rol speelde waren : Den tatuerade Änkan, Höjdhopparen, en Saxofon hallicken.
En wie kan Ingvar Hirdwall vergeten als de hoofdkelner in het toilet van Kunglig shreeuwende “Je kan de koning naar de pizzeria op de hoek sturen !! En een quattro stagione bestellen !”
