La República Autònoma de Nakhtxivan és un territori del sud del Caucas pertanyent a l'Azerbaidjan, enclavat entre Armènia al nord i a l'est, i l'Iran al sud i a l'oest. Té una extensió de 5.500 km² i una població de 414.900 habitants . Durant l'època soviètica, era coneguda amb el nom rus de Nakhitxevan.
La capital de la república autònoma és la ciutat de Nakhtxivan, nucli comercial i centre cultural, seu de la Universitat Estatal de Nakhtxivan.
