El pòlder d'Uitkerkse és la zona d'ocells de prat més important de Flandes.
Per tant, és un lloc atractiu per als fotògrafs de la natura i els observadors d'ocells . Al polder d'Uitkerkse, Natuurpunt també disposa de casetes de fotos especialment per a fotògrafs. També hi ha aquesta torre de guaita.
A l' hivern s'hi instal·len milers d'oques , mentre que a la primavera s'hi escenifiquen centenars d'ocells dels prats.
