L'església de Sant Pere data del segle XI.
L'església està dedicada a Sant Piat, el primer missioner cristià de Tournai . Segons les excavacions de l'any 1971, a mitjans del segle IV hi havia un cementiri cristià, sobre el qual es va construir una basílica merovingia a principis del segle XX.
L'església actual es va construir al segle XI. Sobre la nau romànica es va construir un cor gòtic al segle XIII. L'església es va ampliar en els segles següents. Al segle XVII es van construir capelles laterals de fusta de faig, que representen la llegenda de Notre-Dame d'Alsemberg i la llegenda de Saint-Hubert .
