La batalla de Varna, el principal enfrontament de la Croada de Varna, es lliurà el 10 de novembre del 1444 prop de Varna, a l'est de l'actual Bulgària, no gaire lluny de la costa del mar Negre. L'exèrcit otomà, comandat pel soldà Murat II, derrotà les tropes hongareses i poloneses, dividides en tres fronts: un comandat pel rei de Polònia i Hongria, Ladislau III, que caigué en combat; un altre dirigit pel regent hongarès, Joan Hunyadi ; i un altre encapçalat pel príncep de Valàquia, Mircea II. Aquesta batalla marcà el final de la Croada de Varna.
