Alacant és una ciutat del sud del País Valencià; la segona en població, capital de la comarca de l'Alacantí i de la demarcació provincial homònima. Situada a la costa mediterrània, té una població de 337.304 habitants i forma una conurbació de més de 452.462 habitants amb diverses localitats properes com Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Sant Joan d'Alacant, Mutxamel i el Campello. Estadísticament s'associa també a l'àrea metropolitana d'Alacant-Elx, que té 757.443 habitants.
