Sort és una vila i municipi de Catalunya situat a la comarca del Pallars Sobirà, on fa de cap de comarca. És, juntament amb el Pont de Suert, un dels caps de comarca menys poblats de Catalunya. El 2011 té 2.360 habitants
L'actual municipi de Sort és fruit de l'agregació al vell terme de Sort dels d'Enviny i Llessui, el 1970, i d'Altron, el 1976. Amb aquestes agregacions, el terme municipal de Sort ha assolit una extensió de 105,05 km², que multiplica per vuit el seu terme original de 13,9 km². Enviny n'hi va aportar 31,7, Llessui, 53 , i Altron, més petit, 6,5.
