Alcoi és una ciutat del País Valencià, capital de la comarca de l'Alcoià i cap de partit judicial. És la sisena ciutat més poblada de la província d'Alacant malgrat la seua orografia. És al nord de la província d'Alacant i forma part de les Comarques Centrals.
El seu terme municipal limita amb la província de València pel terme municipal de Bocairent a la serra de Mariola. Limita amb els termes municipals de Banyeres de Mariola, Benifallim, Bocairent, Cocentaina, Ibi, Onil, Penàguila, la Torre de les Maçanes i Xixona.
