El Monument a Emilio Castelar, obra de l'escultor Eduardo Barrón, està situat al centre de l' anteriorment plaça de Castelar, actual plaça de la Candelaria.
Es ret homenatge al gaditano Emilio Castelar, que va néixer el 7 de setembre de 1832 al número 1 de la mateixa plaça. Era un polític eloqüent.
L'estàtua consta d'una base quadrada, amb un pedestal de pedra i l'estàtua a la part superior, que representa el moment d'un discurs . Es va inaugurar el 5 d'octubre de 1906 i l'acte va comptar amb la presència de Segismundo Moret.
