Situat als Jardins de la Mercè , el monument és obra de José Manuel Belmonte Cortés . Va ser inaugurat el 29 d'abril de 2003.
L'obra representa dues típiques dones cordoveses en bronze , una a cada costat de la font, una amb una gerra al maluc , l'altra amb una mà a l'aigua i la gerra al costat. Tots dos amb els cabells pentinats amb els vells i típics molls i pintes cordoveses .
Una obra preciosa amb una placa on, a més de l'autoria de l'obra, hi ha aquests versos del poeta Miguel Salcedo Hierro:
“Mujeres de amor presas,
Y bellesa recondita i prudent:
Promeses de reforma
El serament
La Còrdova, i l'aigua de la font”
