El museu està ubicat a l'històric Hôtel particulier Clapier-Cabris, que Més tard va servir com a tribunal revolucionari i es va convertir en Fundada el 1997 per Hélène Costa , amb la seva passió per les tradicions provençals i el col·leccionisme tèxtil.
Les peces exposades són una col·lecció única i exclusiva de peces de vestir i joies dels segles XVIII i XIX , com vestits tradicionals provençals, cotilles, jupons (piqués), caracs, droulets, joies com châtelaines, creus, arracades, ... que reflecteixen la vida quotidiana i les arts provençals.
Els visitants caminen a través de salons íntims que envolten una escala central, lleugerament atenuada per protegir els tèxtils delicats, i l'entorn històric realça l'atmosfera d' elegància i refinament d'abans.
