L'estàtua, realitzada per l'escultor tolosà Sébastien Langloÿs , va ser inaugurada el gener de 2021 a la Place Louis-Blanc.
El pedestal està fet de pedra de Tavel (del Gard). L'estàtua de bronze mostra Mistral amb barret, en actitud contemplativa, sostenint un bastó en una mà , símbol de saviesa i lideratge.
Frédéric Mistral va ser un famós poeta provençal, lexicògraf i fundador del moviment Félibrige i guanyador del Premi Nobel de Literatura el 1904.
