La statue, réalisée par le sculpteur toulousain Sébastien Langloÿs , a été inaugurée en janvier 2021 sur la place Louis-Blanc.
Le socle est en pierre de Tavel (Gard). La statue en bronze représente Mistral coiffé d'un chapeau, dans une pose contemplative, un bâton à la main , symbole de sagesse et de leadership.
Frédéric Mistral était un célèbre poète provençal, lexicographe et fondateur du mouvement Félibrige et lauréat du prix Nobel de littérature en 1904.
