El monestir d'Arkadi és un monestir ortodox, situat en una plana a 23 km al sud-est de Réthimno, a l'illa de Creta . L'església data del segle xvi i està marcada per la influència del Renaixement, ja que l'illa era aleshores veneciana. Aquesta influència és visible en l'arquitectura que barreja elements romànics i barrocs. Aquesta església de dues naus va ser destruïda pels turcs el 1866, i reconstruïda posteriorment. Des del segle xvi, el monestir fou un centre de ciència i d'art, amb una escola i una biblioteca amb molts llibres antics. Envoltat de muralles altes i gruixudes, situat en un altiplà inaccessible, el monestir era una veritable fortalesa.
