Porto Empedocle és un municipi italià, dins de la província d'Agrigent. L'any 2008 tenia 17.204 habitants. Limita amb els municipis d'Agrigent i Realmonte. L'any 2003 va decidir adoptar Vigata com a segon nom de la localitat, un homenatge al lloc imaginari on se situen les històries del comissari Montalbano, creat per l'escriptor local Andrea Camilleri. L'any 2009 es va revocar la decisió.
