Edirne és una ciutat de Turquia a la vora del Maritza, a la frontera amb Grècia a Tràcia, capital de la província d'Edirne. La seva població és de 128.400 segons el cens del 2002.
Adrianòpolis fou una ciutat de la Regió de Tràcia, a la confluència del riu Tunja amb el Maritza a Turquia. El seu nom traci original fou Uskudama; els macedonis la van anomenar Orestias o Oresteia; va prendre el nom de l'emperador Adrià, que la va ampliar durant el segle ii.
