Salzburg er en statutær by, den fjerde i Østrig i befolkning, og hovedstaden i den homonyme stat, Salzburg. Byen er internationalt kendt for det storslåede historiske centrum, som har været bevaret gennem århundreder og som siden 1997 er beskyttet af UNESCO. Byen er også kendt for at være fødestedet for Mozart og for at være vært for den berømte Salzburg-festival, der afholdes årligt.
